Atel Installationstechnik expands in refrigeration technology
Goetz AG and Unifroid SA are in the commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning technology sector leading suppliers in the Mittelland and Western Switzerland. Together they employ more than 130 people at their locations in Interlaken, Thun, Schönbühl, Grenchen, St. Stephan, Cugy, Geneva and La Chaux-de-Fonds. Both firms are under common ownership. In his search for a successor the owner found a partner in the Atel Installationstechnik Group.
The contracts for the takeover were signed in mid-April 2008. They are to be fulfilled at the end of July 2008. The sales price will not be made public. Atel intends to integrate Goetz AG into Atel Building Technologies West Ltd. and Unifroid SA into Atel TB Romandie SA, whereby it is planned to strengthen the close cooperation that already exists. All employees will retain their jobs.
The firms operate in the development, project planning, manufacture, installation, sale and maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning, heat recovery and heat pump plant and cooperate with each other within the Swiss Kältering. The range of services offered by the two refrigeration technology firms covering plant construction, maintenance and service optimally complements the core business of the AIT Group. The companies’ customers include in particular supermarkets, convenience shops, hotels, restaurants and industrial facilities.
