CVE is the parent company of Romande Energie SA, the largest power supply company in western Switzerland. It is also the majority shareholder (29 %) in EOS Holding and has various additional interests in hydroelectric power stations. Headquartered in Morges, 36 % of CVE is owned by canton Vaud and 25.5 % by communes in canton Vaud. The remaining 38.5 % is widely spread. CVE electricity output goes to some 180,000 end customers and ten resellers in cantons Vaud, Valais, Fribourg and Geneva.
Given CVE’s financial and entrepreneurial strength, and its role as an electricity supplier in western Switzerland, Atel feels its investment in CVE is an attractive one. It therefore plans to cultivate closer ties with CVE, particularly with respect to the operation of power stations and energy deliveries.
